My pet peeve this election year is Republicans blaming us for the debt that they ran up. "OWEbama". Have you heard that s*it? Well, I got my LTE on it published this morning in the Fort Collins Coloradoan. I'm batting 100 with the Coloradoan on getting LTE's published!
Let's get the word out! Especially those of us who live in "battleground" states. What's your issue? I'm hitting them on AGW next.
Ronald Reagan tripled our national debt. Yes, you read that right. Tripled. How did he do that, what was his program? Why, big tax cuts, now! And then, afterward, he was going to cut spending. Someday. Of course, the spending cuts never came.Guess I " outed" myself, huh? No biggie.Then, the Republican Supreme Court presented us with Bush, who doubled our debt yet again. Yes. Doubled. How did he do that? Big tax cuts now! Spending cuts? Oh, how abouut a couple of wars instead? Don't worry, go shopping.
Our country is in a desperate crisis of Republican debt.
And now they offer us Mitt Romney. What is his bright idea? Guess. More big tax cuts now! And how is he going to pay for them? He's going to, uh, cut spending. Close those pesky tax loopholes. Later. What spending? Which loopholes? He's not saying. Trust him.
America is drowning in Republican debt. One more Republican president, one more dose of their seductive tax-cut poison, and we are lost forever.
